Ch Sushil Rao is a gold medalist in journalism from the more than 75 years old Osmania University in Hyderabad. He holds a Bachelor in Communication and Journalism (BCJ) degree and a Master in Communication and Journalism (MCJ) post-graduate degree from the University College of Arts and Social Sciences, OU. He topped in the entrance examination of MCJ. In both BCJ and MCJ he stood second in the University. For his research study paper, he was awarded a gold medal.
Prior to that he got his three-year Bachelor in Commerce (B Com) degree from the city’s prestigious Badruka College of Commerce. He did his schooling from St Patrick’s High School, Secunderabad and Wesley Boys’ High School, Secunderabad. He did his Intermediate studies in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from Wesley Boys’ Junior College, Secunderabad. Ch Sushil Rao began his career as a journalist at the age of 20. He worked for Citizen’s evening English daily for a year. He then worked for the city’s leading newspaper Deccan Chronicle for six years. As a senior journalist, he worked for two newspapers and then rejoined Deccan Chronicle. He has been working for The Times of India, Hyderabad for the last 22 years since its launch in September 2000. He was closely associated with the launch of three newspapers. When web journalism was in its infancy in India, he wrote for the most popular “Rediff-on-the-net” news website. He was also involved in reporting for Gemini TV, the very first news channel that was launched in Telugu. He has worked as chief reporter for four newspapers. He has visited Iran and Singapore on official work as a journalist.He is also invited as a panelist on Television shows and in discussions. |
